Hey — I’m Ty Hunt. I’m a storyteller and world-builder obsessed with character-driven narratives.
For me, it always comes back to one question: Who is this person, and how do they change? Whether I’m working on a grounded drama, a sci-fi epic, or a branded documentary, my job is to guide that transformation — and make sure the audience feels it.
Over the past decade, I’ve directed narrative projects, branded campaigns, and commercials with budgets ranging from $30K to $15M — from large-scale productions to scrappy indie shoots. I’ve led creative from pitch to post, built story architecture, managed full crews, and delivered work built to live on screens of every size.
Before stepping fully into the director’s chair, I worked my way up — from Production Assistant to 2nd AD to 2nd Unit Director — on projects that included theme park shoots, national campaigns, and Emmy-winning work. I’ve coordinated crews, wrangled SAG talent, and helped bring big visions to life under tight timelines and tighter budgets.
That experience taught me how to lead under pressure, keep a set running clean, and protect the creative when the clock’s ticking. It also taught me how to collaborate — with agencies, producers, actors, editors, and clients — and to never underestimate the power of great coffee and a great crew.
Creatively, I gravitate toward layered stories — ones with philosophical tension, metaphorical weight, and spiritual undertones. I love smart writing, honest performances, and anything that lingers after the credits roll. But above all, I’m about character: real people, in unreal worlds, going through something that changes them.
If I sound like your kind of collaborator, let’s connect.
